  Growing Weed Indoors Tips

The First time you Grow Weed Indoors you should start with a soil-based grow rather than hydroponics. For growing weed indoors You need to get a feel for the growth and life cycle of indoor weed in order to have confidence that things are going well. Growing weed indoors can be fun.Soil is more forgiving than rockwool or other hydroponics media. Micro nutrient balances, which are critical to proper weed growth and vigor, exist in soil naturally. Soil for growing weed indoors is inexpensive and not suspicious to neighbors who may wonder what all the equipment is for otherwise. Make sure that the soil is not too dense for growing your weed indoors. Use perlite to lighten and loosen the soil. Growing weed indoors can be profitable too. This provides necessary space in the medium for air. Air is an important factor in growing any type of weed plant.

 Growing your own Weed Indoors

This guide will help the new or experienced indoor weed grower set up a simple space, into a private indoor weed Farm. You may use an existing closet, or any space at least 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide and 4 feet in length movable box type closet. Divide the indoor weed growing closet into two light proof sections, one smaller than the other, if you use a fridge this is perfect. If you can not divide, just change setup. Growing weed indoors can be a family project.

For growing weed indoors lighting you will need at least fluorescent light and ballast for Vegetative weed growth. You also need a 400 watt Metal Halide bulb and ballast for your indoor weed flowering period.Growing weed indoors can be a hobby. Most people that start growing weed indoors do so to control the enviornment.

You will need a small fan to remove air from your indoor weed closet and to gently blow the weed plants when the lights are on. this is to keep the room cool. This can be a fan sucking air from the room or an exhaust fan that draws air outside the grow room.Growing weed indoors is exciting.

The first indoor weed crop will take 3 months from seed to harvest. Your first attempt at growing weed indoors might not be as successful as you had hoped. You need to learn from your mistakes ,this is normal when growing weed indoors. Make sure you have good indoor weed seeds suitable for indoor growth, I suggest Northern Lights #1, Indoor growing skunk, a indoor weed growing mixture, or seeds from the most potent weed. If you can get cuttings from a indoor weed growing friend then you are a step ahead. Growing weed indoors can earn you extra money in your spare time.Start weed seeds directly in peat pots or your soil/soil less mix, under 24 hours light from the fluorescent tubes. Tubes can be 2 inches from the weed seedlings. Grow your indoor weed plants for 3 weeks fertilizing after the first set of leaves show. Miracle Grow should be fed in a weak solution with every feeding. Organic fertilizers are also recommended. Be very careful not to over fertilize your indoor weed. After three weeks transplant the indoor weed plants into larger pots (or Rockwool cube in hydro setup).Growing weed indoors can be profitable.

Then place plants under 12 hours lighting from the Metal Halide. Whether your 12 hour light cycle is in the day or night is up to you. But make sure that you can take care of watering and feeding your indoor weed plants in the light. Do not interrupt the Dark period. This will delay the flowering process and it will take forever to complete.

About a week after you start the flowering process you will spot males with small green pods that hang. Remove them only when you are sure that they are males. They are not garbage, in fact the males are quite potent before the females reach their max potency!
Harvest the males just before they release pollen. The females will become evident as they will grow bushy, producing many white pistils. They will grow more and more bushy and develop a main cola. Don't prune, bend plants if they grow too tall.

After your first harvest, Select your best female for potency, vigor and early flowering. Don't just pull plants from the roots, leave the bottom 3-4 branches and a few flowers. Revert your prize female to vegetative by placing it under a 24 hour light cycle. After a few weeks several fast growing shoots will appear, these are perfect for taking cuttings from your plants.Growing weed indoors is fun.

Take several 3 inch cuttings and root for 3 weeks under 24 hours light. Keep the original Mother alive for future clone crops. Keep clones in the vegetative cycle for 3 more weeks, then place in the flowering section (12/12 regimen).

Light Needed for Growing Weed Indoors

Get a high intensity discharge (HID) light for growing your weed indoors. High-pressure sodium systems are the best for vegetative and flowering. Without a HID light, you will not produce dense weed buds. You may substitute fluorescent fixtures with warm bulbs (not cool white), but the yield from such a system would be low. When growing weed indoors do not use a regular incandescent bulb - this will not provide the correct spectrum of light for your weed plants. Fancy specialty "grow bulbs" don’t have the intensity needed to grow dense weed buds indoors, but they will definitely keep the weed plants alive. Growing weed indoors needs lots of light.

Weed flowers form naturally outdoors in the fall, as the days grow shorter. Indoors, we can force the weed plant to flower by creating a growing space where the light cycle can be controlled. 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness are necessary to force indoor weed plants to  flower. This period, known as the Weed flowering period, continues for approximately 6-8 weeks depending on the strain of indoor weed plant. Growing weed indoors can be very profitable.

The vegetative period for growing weed indoors, which precedes the flowering period for growing weed indoors, is usually done (with clones) under 24 hours of continuous light. This period usually lasts from five days to two weeks depending on weed strain and vigor of clones. Plants will usually double in size during the change from the vegetative to the flowering period. You may want to make a note of that in order to accommodate the height and width of your growing weed indoors garden. Growing weed indoors is a learned art.

Nutrients for Growing Weed Indoors

There are three main nutrients that weed plants use: Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). These will be noted on the plant food label with relative % numbers as N-P-K. A good balance for growing weed indoors vegetative cycle would be something with a high N ratio, such as 20-10-10. When changing the weed plants from vegetative to flowering (i.e. changing the light cycle from 24 hours of continuous light to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness), the nutrient ratio must change as well. Weed Plants use phosphorus to make flowers or “buds”. During the flowering stage, feed your weed  plants a high phosphorus plant food. Something like 10-20-10 would be appropriate. Don’t get hung up on the actual numbers. It is the ratio that is actually important. Feed your weed like a vegetable. Follow the instructions on the label and be careful not to overfeed!

Water Needed for Growing Weed Indoors

Water your indoor weed plants whenever they are dry and not too often. Overwatering is a common cause of death to most peoples weed plants. Overwatered weed plants droop and look like they need water. The first reaction is to water a plant that looks droopy. Growing weed indoors takes time to learn all the different aspects of the process. What the weed plants are actually lacking is air. They are drowning and the last thing that they need is more water. One simple way to check for the proper time to water is to lift the pot that the plant is in after watering. Feel the weight of the watered pot and make a mental note. Next time you think the weed plant needs water lift the pot and see how heavy it is. If it feels light, then water it. If it feels heavy then don’t. Young weed plants will use less water. As the plant grows and the root ball fills the container, it will use more water.

PH levels for Growing Weed Indoors

pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of the root zone and water. In general weed plants like the root zone to be acidic, around 5.6 - 6.3 is the range. You may want to get a pH test kit and check your tap water to see if it skewed in one direction or the other. If your weed plants are not thriving, are turning yellow or appear to be burning at the edges of the leaf, then you may need to consult a more exhaustive source of information about how to go about solving these problems with growing weed indoors

Air and temperature needed for Growing Weed Indoors

Weed plants need fresh air. You will have to find a way to circulate the air in the growing weed indoors chamber. Fresh air from the outside is the best for growing weed indoors. Fans will move air sufficiently in and out of the closet from the house. You just need to be aware. Without some kind of fresh air, weed plants don’t have the carbon dioxide needed to create new plant material. No fresh air, no CO2, no big weed buds. Temperature is also a reason to circulate the air. HID lights create a lot of heat and high temperatures will inhibit growth. Keep the temperature between 75 and 85 degrees and you will not have growth problems related to heat. Growing weed indoors is an enjoyable hobby.Too cold is bad as well, especially in the root zone. Under 60 degrees, the weed plant will be unable to take up nutrient properly and you will experience problems.

By keeping the basic needs of the weed plant in mind, you will be rewarded enormously. Light, food and water and air are all critical to the proper growth of the indoor weed plant.
